obtaining a photocopy of an issued check

HOW TO OBTAIN A PHOTOCOPY OF AN ISSUED CHECK

Please follow the steps below if you wish to receive a copy of a check you issued.

Request

You must make your request with your BNP Paribas branch.

The following information is required for you to receive a copy of a check you issued:

  • The name of the requester
  • The routing number (found on your bank account information slip)
  • The account number
  • The check number
  • The amount of the check (and possibly the currency)
  • The date it was withdrawn
  • How you would like to retrieve it

Restitution

You can only obtain a copy of the front of the check.

The bank cannot divulge the information on the back of a check to the issuer, as this information is covered by professional confidentiality (beneficiary bank identification information).

Retrieval

The copy is intended only for the account holder or their agent; it can be picked up at a branch or mailed.
